After ranking #1 for every radio survey of 2015, the ARN KIIS network station has started 2016 with a win too. It shed a little bit of share though with its 10+ audience down 1.4 from 13.5%. The only slots to escape the downdraft were evening and weekends. Breakfast with Robin, Terry and Bob was down 2.0 from 13.6% to 11.6% where it shares the #1 breakfast ranking with Nova. The biggest drop at the station was in morning where share dropped 3.8 to 10.5%, taking the Louise Poole-hosted slot from #1 to #3. Afternoon with Daniel Thomas and The 3pm Pick-Up and drive with Hughesy and Kate were both down just over 1.5. The best performing daypart is weekend where share lifted 0.7 to 13.8%. The station had a rough ride in the demos with 18-24 down 4.0 to 7.1% and 25-39 down 3.1 to 10.8%. 97.3 remains #1 where it matters with 40-54 share down 1.9 to 18.1% with 97.3 2.0 clear of an improving 4MMM.

Nova 106.9

11.0% Breakfast and drive were the best performers here. At the start of the day, Ash, Kip and Luttsy dipped just 0.3 to 11.6% where they now share #1 commercial breakfast with 97.3. In drive, Kate, Tim and Marty were steady on 14.5% to keep top spot. The numbers were down varying amounts in the demos Nova competes in. 18-24 dipped 0.9 to 22.6% keeping Nova #2 behind hit 105.5 and the station surrendered top spot 25-39 with share falling 2.8 to 16.7%, again with hit 105.3 in top spot.

4MMM 10.8%

The biggest mover of the survey was up 2.4 to 10.8%. All dayparts contributed to the turnaround. The most focus will be on the breakfast show with Marto and Ed Kavalee which jumped 3.4 points to 11.2% to only trail the joint leaders by 0.4. Share jumped by 3.9 in morning to 13.7% and by 4.0 in afternoon to 14.1% where the station now ranks #1 overall. Drive did its bit too by not losing any share with the numbers steady on 9.0%. Evening joined in too with share up 2.6 to 7.4%. In the demos 4MMM is suddenly more competitive 25-39 with share up 3.2 to 15.1%. The station also lifted 40-54, up 1.7 to 16.1%, closing the gap between it and 97.3.

hit 105.3 10.3%

The 10+ dip of 0.4 was driven by a loss of 4.9 in evening to 7.1% and a fall of 1.2 on weekends to 9.0%. Otherwise it wasn’t a bad set of numbers with the first breakfast survey with Osher Gunsberg on board registering a share of 9.4%, up 0.7 on the last result from 2015. Morning too performed well with share up 0.6 to 11.4% lifting the station from #4 to #2 in the slot. Afternoon remains a competitive #3 for the station despite shedding half a point. The Hamish and Andy drive show was steady on 12.5% with the show improving from #3 to #2 with 97.3 dropping behind. In the demos hit 105.3 improved its already impressive 18-24 share by 3.2 to 32.7, now over 10 points ahead of the #2 station Nova. The station is also now #1 25-39 with share up 1.0 to 17.1%, moving narrowly ahead of Nova.

4KQ 8.2%

Good results in breakfast, morning and drive kept the station in positive territory. The biggest bump was in morning with share up 1.5 to 9.8%. Breakfast with Laurel, Gary and Mark was up 1.2 to 9.0% with the AM breakfast show just 0.4 of a point behind hit 105.3.
