ABC News Channel is gearing up for another busy election year as the national broadcaster announces their line-up for the season ahead.
Greg Jennett will be the new host of Afternoon Briefing bringing audiences big interviews and agenda setting discussions about national affairs and politics every weekday at 4pm.
Patricia Karevelas is moving from the afternoon program to presenting RN Breakfast, and continue appearances on ABC News Channel to provide her trusted analysis on big stories and hosting special programs.
The national broadcaster's top political team will bring viewers the latest news and best analysis as poll day looms, with political editor Andrew Probyn, Insiders host David Speers, election analyst Antony Green, data analyst Casey Briggs and the Canberra Parliament House team.
Full programming will return from Monday January 31 with New Breakfast presented by Michael Rowland, Lisa Millar, Nate Byrne and Tony Armstrong, with Fauziah Ibrahim and Johanna Nicholson on Weekend Breakfast.
At the helm of ABC News Morning is Joe O'Brien, followed by Ros Childs at Midday, Gemma Veness and Kirsten Aiken on Afternoons.
Karina Carvalho will present ABC News Tonight, with Beverley O’Connor and Yvonne Yong hosting The World, followed by The Drum with Ellen Fanning and Julia Baird.

Hosting ABC Late News/News Overnight is Michael Tetlow, while Miriam Corowa presents ABC News Regional/Weekends) and Mariam Saab at the desk for ABC News Weekends.
Also set for this year is China Tonight hosted by Stan Grant and Yvonne Yong, which will begin on March 7 and air on Monday nights at 9.30pm ABC TV/Tuesdays 8pm ABC NEWS.
The Chaser's Chas Licciardello returns for the US mid-term elections on Planet America with John Barron.
Kathryn Robinson and Elysse Morgan return to host The Business on weeknights at 8.45pm AEST on ABC NEWS / 10.45pm on ABC TV.
Jeremy Fernandez will present The Virus on Friday nights at 7.45pm on ABC NEWS and ABC iview – alongside Casey Briggs, Norman Swan and Sophie Scott to offer a weekly update on the pandemic at home and around the world.
This comes after ABC News Channel was Australia’s most-watched and trusted 24-hour news channel with a national weekly broadcast reach of almost 16% of Australians in 2021, plus 250,000 daily livestreams on ABC iview and YouTube.
