ABC Commercial has announced it has secured all streaming, digital download and DVD distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand to Ambience Entertainment’s highly anticipated television series Tomorrow, When The War Began, which is expected to premiere on ABC3 in early 2016.

Adapted from John Marsden’s bestselling novels, the six-part, hour-long adventure series tells the story of a group of teenagers who are separated from their families following an invasion of the Australian mainland and the compelling dilemmas they are forced to face as a consequence.

The announcement follows the recent cast reveal, with acclaimed Australian actors Sibylla Budd (The Secret Life of Us), Deborah Mailman (Redfern Now), James Stewart (Packed to the Rafters) and Alison Bell (Offspring) all confirmed to star alongside a stellar line up of young, fresh-faced Australian talent.

“We are thrilled to have secured the rights to one of the most hotly anticipated television series of 2016,” said Jessica Ellis, head of ABC video entertainment & distribution. “The move strongly reaffirms ABC Commercial’s position as a leading entertainment provider and we expect this will be an Australian drama all families will enjoy together.”
