Accenture Song ANZ has appointed Fabio Buresti as Managing Director of Customer Strategy, and Design and Digital Products Lead, expanding his remit across the region

The expanded role will see he will oversee strategy across Accenture Song ANZ and Droga5 ANZ, uniting design, digital product innovation and brand strategy.

Buresti will continue to lead the Design and Digital Products practice while partnering with clients to integrate creativity, data and technology, including advanced AI, into their brand and customer strategies.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in brand, product and customer strategy and has played a key role in shaping Accenture Song’s design-led approach in the region.

Buresti said of his new role: “Our opportunity is turning what brands stand for into what they’re known for. Not just in campaigns, but in real experiences people can see, touch and use.

“I’m excited to bring strategy, design, and technology together, so purpose becomes a commercial lever that drives growth and moves people.”

Matt Michael, CEO Droga5 ANZ and Marketing Practice Lead Accenture Song ANZ, added: “Fabio was instrumental to the sharp strategic offering that made The Monkeys, now Droga5 ANZ, so potent over the past 18 years and shaped so many iconic creative moments.

“It is why it is so exciting to have him in this role to provide an elevated view on strategy for both Song and Droga5 ANZ.”

Buresti's appointment comes after Optus appointed Accenture Song Media and Droga5 as its new media and creative agencies, respectively, back in June.

“This is an exciting step for Optus as we look to accelerate our ability to execute with impact, yet efficiently and with a simplified approach,” Felicity Ross, Chief Corporate Affairs & Marketing Officer, Optus, said.

“Congratulations to our new agency partners and the Optus team who have driven an extremely professional selection process with deep consideration of our ambition, and respect for the expertise of all involved.”
