Dentsu Queensland has appointed Laura Henry as head of strategy, expanding its leadership team with a focus on creativity, innovation and impact across its client portfolio.

Henry joins from OMD Australia, where she was head of Create and led the Brisbane-based team across social innovation, creative solutions, entertainment and sport partnerships. She brings more than 10 years of experience spanning agency and media owner roles.

Chris Ernst, managing director of dentsu Queensland, said Henry’s appointment aligned with the agency’s growth ambitions: “Laura’s strategic flair and her passion for designing innovative media-led solutions makes her a perfect fit for our Queensland team. She is cut from the same cloth as our dentsu Queensland team and is a leader who will complement our people, our partners and our client community.”

Henry added: “I’m thrilled to be joining dentsu Queensland at such an exciting time. The agency’s momentum, culture and commitment to innovation are truly inspiring. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team and helping shape the next chapter of strategic excellence.”

Growth and recognition

The appointment follows several milestones for the agency this year. Dentsu Queensland secured the media account for Shine Justice, retained The Lottery Corporation, and was named one of The Australian Financial Review’s Best Places to Work, ranking ninth in the media and marketing category.

The agency reported double-digit revenue growth in 2025 and received national recognition when Ernst was named a winner in the leadership category of Mediaweek’s Next of the Best Awards. Its expanding client roster includes Tourism Whitsundays, Good Drinks Australia, Tourism and Events Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Experience Gold Coast, Visit Sunshine Coast, McCormick Foods, Great Southern Bank and Aveo Retirement Living.
