OMD has appointed Harry Jayaweera as managing partner of its Brisbane office, marking her return to the business.

Jayaweera brings more than 15 years of experience across agency, sales and consulting, most recently serving as managing director of Carat NSW and dentsu X Sydney.

Returning to OMD

During a previous stint with Omnicom Media, Jayaweera established and led the group’s national Diverse Media division, focused on helping brands connect with Australia’s diverse audiences through more inclusive strategies.

Managing Director Alison Costello said the appointment strengthens the agency’s leadership in Queensland.

“Harry brings an exceptional combination of strategic rigour, commercial leadership and humanity… she has a wonderful reputation for building high-performing teams and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients,” she said.

Costello added that the appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the Brisbane market, as the city prepares for the 2032 Olympic Games.

Jayaweera comments

Jayaweera said the opportunity to return to OMD and relocate to Queensland was a key draw.
