ARIA Chart: Rolling Stones at #1

Singles

Very little chart movement here as we move in on Christmas. Clean Bandit spend a second week at #1 with "Rockabye" featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie.

Just one new arrival in the top 10 with "Stranger" from Peking Duk climbing from #11 to #8.

Big chart movers included "I Feel It Coming" from The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk up to #13 from #24 giving The Weeknd two tunes in the top 20 as "Starboy" spends its eighth week at #2.

"Capsize" from Emily Warren jumped to #17 from #30.

Starley's "Call On Me" (Ryan Riback Remix) re-entered the chart at #28 which is a new high.

Also back inside the 50 is Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" at #39. The song previously peaked at #2.

At #40 are Robin Schulz and David Guetta featuring Cheat Codes with "Shed A Light" after climbing into the 50 from further down the chart.

The only new release to crack the 50 on debut this week is "Black Barbies" from Nicki Minaj and Mike Will Made-It at #47.

Albums

The power of the grey rock dollar is clear this week with The Rolling Stones back at #1 with "Blue & Lonesome" – their first studio album since "A Bigger Bang" which peaked at #4 in 2005. It's actually their first #1 album since "Voodoo Lounge" in 1994.

ARIA reports this week that prior to the advent of the ARIA charts, The Rolling Stones scored #1s in Australia with "The Rolling Stones" (3 weeks 1965), "Their Satanic Majesties Request" (3 weeks 1968), "Sticky Fingers" (2 weeks 1971), "Goats Head Soup" (4 weeks 1973) and "Tattoo You" (11 weeks 1981).

Keith Urban's "Ripcord" sneaks into the top 10 again at #7 during his Australian tour. The album was formerly a chart-topper in the first half of this year and has been on the chart for 31 weeks.

The other chart debut inside the top 10 is Childish Gambino with "Awaken, My Love!” It is musician/actor Donald Glover's highest chart peak under the Childish Gambino moniker.

Just missing the top 10 at #11 is Cold Chisel with "The Live Tapes Vol. 3: Live At The Manly Vale Hotel, Sydney June 7, 1980". You've got to love all that detail right there in the album name. This is the third release in Cold Chisel’s Live Tapes series. The Bombay Rock 1979 set released two years ago was the previous best with a chart peak of #19.
