ARN has promoted Deb Clay to the role of national news director.

Clay will be responsible for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth newsrooms.

The appointment comes following a national review of ARN’s news strategy and will provide a more streamlined format, in line with other key areas of the business.

Following the review and creation of the national news director role, the current role of news director – Melbourne and Adelaide has been made redundant and Emily Hoskins has left the business.

“Emily has been with ARN close to 14 years and has made many great contributions over this time. She is a passionate news person and has taken great pride in the level of news content Melbourne and Adelaide produce. I would like to personally thank Emily for all her hard work and commitment to ARN and wish her the very best,” ARN’s national content director Duncan Campbell said.

Before joining ARN just over 12 months ago, Clay previously held news director and breakfast news presenter roles at Southern Cross Austereo and worked as a journalist at Sky News, Nova and 2SM.

She continues to be a regular contributor on Seven's Sunrise.
