ACRAs 2021

Commercial Radio Australia have announced that the live Australian Commercial Radio Awards event (ACRAs), to recognise work across 2020 and 2021, will not proceed as planned on 13 February 2022.

The winners of the ACRAs will now be announced in December and will be posted to the event website.

The decision was made by the CRA Board at its meeting on 28 October. The Board took into consideration the impact of possible state lockdowns and, subsequently, the potential absence of many industry nominees and stakeholders.

The planned February 13th event was already a delayed date from October 30th. The original delay was to allow time for corporate events and interstate travel to resume once government Covid-19 vaccination targets had been met.

Marking excellence in commercial radio broadcasting across entertainment, news, talk and sport, the ACRAs are awarded in metropolitan, provincial and country categories, with entries coming from commercial radio stations across Australia.

Earlier this year, Commercial Radio Australia announced that its chief executive officer Joan Warner has advised the CRA board that she intends to step down early next year. The search for a replacement CEO will commence immediately with the aim of a new CEO taking up the position during the first quarter of 2022.

The Board has extended its thanks for her long and outstanding commitment to CRA over the past 20 years.
