BCM Group has announced the promotions of Shaun Egan and Sam Boyd as joint creative directors.

Egan and Boyd, both highly awarded, have been at the independent creative and media agency as a senior creative team for nearly three years after joining from VMLY&R.

They have been a creative duo for more than 10 years, working across clients including Coca-Cola, Qantas, Nestle, Powerade, Lexus, AGL, NatWest Bank, Suncorp Group, Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Tatts Lotteries, Isuzu, TAFE, QUT, Australian Government, QLD Government, Climate Council and more.

Egan and Boyd's work has been recognised at award shows both internationally and locally including Cannes Lions, D&AD, LIA, Spikes, AMI, AWARD and BADC.

Phil McDonald, BCM Group partner and managing director, said of the promotions: "Shaun and Sam are passionate, yet sensible creative minds. They put the client first and solve business problems with outstanding creative thinking.

"They have won awards the world over and they understand how creativity integrates right across a customer journey. Beyond that they are some of the nicest humans I have worked with and ideal leaders for our creative teams," he added.

News of the promotions comes after BCM announced a raft of new clients to its roster. The agency welcomed Travel Associates, the leisure division of the Flight Centre Travel Group, Hog’s Breath Café and Brighter Super.

Earlier this year, McDonald spoke with Mediaweek about the agency’s continued growth and the outlook for the year ahead.

McDonald shared that BCM has an exciting year ahead with business picking up in the Sydney market.

“We’ve got a small office in Sydney; what’s happening now is we realise that to service some of those Sydney based clients, we will have to have more of a foothold in the Sydney market, which is great. So that’ll be our focus this year, to continue to move down into the Sydney market. That’s a priority for us,” he said.
