Logie Awards Adds

For the first time in its history, the TV Week Logie Awards is launching a Most Popular Television Commercial category.

Voted for by the general public and not the advertising industry, the new award will celebrate the best, most creative and entertaining TV commercials produced for Australian audiences.

The winning ad and agency will be recognised by appearing in the credits at the end of the national broadcast and the creative team behind the winning spot will be invited to attend the 61st TV Week Logie Awards held at The Star Gold Coast, Queensland later this year.

The award is open to any television commercial aired between 1st January, 2018 and 31st December, 2018 with advertisers, creative, media and content agencies all eligible to enter.

Entries for the Most Popular Television Commercial close on 8th February with the top 10 commercials of the year shortlisted by a panel of trade media editors and voting by the general public taking place between 4th and 31st March.

Paul Weaving, CMO and publisher at Bauer Media, said: “Australia’s creative industry produces some of the most memorable and entertaining television advertising in the world. We’re delighted that Australian TV viewers can now have their say on the commercials that resonate with them in this new TV Week Logie Award. Agencies have been calling for this award for some time and in 2019 the Most Popular Television Commercial has been added to the awards.”
