Brisbane Radio Ratings: Nova holds at #1 10+ & brekky as Hit 105 tackles Triple M

Nova maintains top spot, but all of a sudden the market is much more competitive

Biggest rise: Hit 105 +1.6
Biggest fall: 4KQ -1.3

Nova 106.9 12.4% (-0.5)

The station maintains top spot, but all of a sudden the market is much more competitive with Hit 105 much closer to Ash, Kip and Luttsy with Susie O’Neill than they were last survey. Drive with Kate, Tim and Marty continues to be the star performer with share up 0.2 to 16.4%, well ahead of all competition despite a surge from Hit 105 in that slot too.

104.5 Triple M 11.9 % (-0.5)

A similar dip to Nova’s this survey, although breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody is steady on 11.7%. Morning and afternoon continue to rank #1, but Kennedy Molloy has dropped from #2 drive to #3.

Hit 105 11.8%

The big mover this survey with improvements right across the day and on weekends. The only exception was evening. Breakfast with Stav, Abby and Matt had the smallest bump, up 0.8 to 12.0%, but it is breathing down the neck of Nova. Morning and drive shares were each up over 2.5.

97.3 10.8% (+0.4)

Things started to go a little pear-shaped here at the end of last year with two successive surveys under 10%. This is a little better, but 97.3 is still having its slowest ratings start for many years. Breakfast with Bianca, Mike and Bob was steady on 9.0%, which is the equal lowest share for a few years.

4KQ 7.9% (-1.3)

Every timeslot except afternoon drifted lower with breakfast being punished the hardest where Laurel, Gary and Mark lost 2.3 to 8.2%.

4BC 6.1% (+0.6)

The third-best survey result in three years with both Alan Jones (+1.2 to 7.6%) and Ray Hadley (+1.0 to 8.0%) improved.

Macquarie Sports Radio 0.5%

The successive low results do make you wonder how long this will be tolerated. Although finding another AM format will be just as big a challenge as making this one work.
