TikTok Avatars

TikTok has introduced TikTok Avatars - another way for people to showcase their individuality and empower continued creative expression on the platform.

Creators can make an Avatar that reflects their personal look and style from an array of hairstyles, accessories, piercings and makeup.

To get started, open the effects section in the app and search for the Avatar effect. From there, users are able to customise their Avatar to fit their preferences.

Once their Avatar is ready, they can start recording videos. The Avatar is able to mimic motions, gestures and movements.

The launch for the first version of TikTok Avatars globally will continue to improve and innovate to make sure the experience is truly representative of all who are on the platform.

From outfits to skin tones and hair colour down to texture, building inclusive features and experiences remains our priority, and TikTok has assured they will continue to listen to our community and look to creators for feedback at every step of its development.

Alongside user feedback, TikTok is working with their Creator Diversity Collective to make this the most inclusive and representative experience for their community.

TikTok said they are excited to see how people use Avatars to express their creativity and continue exploring ways to bring Avatars into more experiences, building spaces across the platform for self-expression and expanding on the ways people connect and create across our global community.

The launch of TikTok Avatars comes after Hootsuite announced it has joined the content marketing speciality within TikTok’s Marketing Partner Program, an initiative that makes it easier for marketers to scale their content on the platform.

As an official badged partner, the social media management platform has launched an integration that enables its customers to effectively manage, execute and optimise their TikTok content alongside their other platforms, from one integrated tool.
