It shouldn’t be any surprise that Christian O’Connell has built a significant body of work since arriving in Australia. In the UK the award-winning broadcaster hosted an Absolute Radio breakfast show across eight stations. His deal with ARN doesn’t let him do that, yet, but in addition to hosting the #1 FM Melbourne breakfast show of Gold 104.3 he is now at work at the other end of the day with an evening show on Gold.

Now O’Connell is launching his own podcast series Stuff of Legends where one of his initial guests will be his Sydney Pure Gold Network colleague Amanda Keller as well as Russell Brand, Celeste Barber, Ricky Gervais and more.

The podcast was previewed by Christian O’Connell today at Carat and brand experience agency MKTG’s virtual festival, Couch-Ella 2020, and details will be announced in full later this year.

Stuff Of Legends will see Christian inviting some of the world’s funniest and best storytellers to share and discuss three treasured objects from their lives.

Christian O’Connell said: “I’ve had this idea for a good couple of years as I wanted to do a show that was something different to me doing all the talking! I love stories and I’ve always been fascinated by how certain objects that we own, take on so much meaning to us and reflect who we are. Each brilliant episode allows guests to show a side of themselves that we’ve maybe never heard from before.  Ricky Gervais is a great example of that and Russell Brand takes us back to his teenage years. There are many more guests to reveal and I can’t wait to share their stories.”
