Yahoo Australia creates new head of news and lifestyle role for Belinda Grant-Geary

Grant-Geary will lead the editorial strategy and teams for Yahoo’s news and lifestyle verticals.

Yahoo Australia has promoted Belinda Grant-Geary to the newly created role of head of news and lifestyle, as the business looks to expand its editorial strategy and audience reach across the verticals.

Grant-Geary joined Yahoo in 2023 as head of Yahoo Finance Australia, where she oversaw growth across the title and reinforced its position as a go-to destination for financial news and analysis.

Her new remit will see her take charge of Yahoo’s news and lifestyle teams, with responsibility for shaping editorial direction and driving engagement.

Grant-Geary a track record of leading teams across competitive news environments. She steps into the role effective immediately and report directly to Euan Black, director of content at Yahoo Australia.

'Proven experience'

“Belinda’s appointment is a natural next step given the impact she’s had at Yahoo Finance over the past year,” Black said.

"She has proven experience in building audience trust and delivering high-quality content, and I’m excited to see her bring that expertise into our broader news and lifestyle coverage.
