Dragon welcomes visitors to the Opera House ahead of Foxtel's GoT premiere

Foxtel and Game Of Thrones is taking over part of the Opera House this weekend and early next week to promote the launch of season five of Game Of Thrones. The subscription TV company and its showcase channel have installed a replica of one of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons in the Opera House forecourt. The dragon is part of a promotion Foxtel is running with Nova 969 and the Fitzy and Wippa breakfast show called Dragon Hunt with one listener winning $20,000. Nova DJs including Wippa and Smallzy will be visiting the Opera House and it is expected the dragon will be quite an attraction over the weekend.

Foxtel will be screening the first episode of the new season of Game Of Thrones on the big screen in the Opera House to 1800 people on Monday night.

Facts about the Drogon the Dragon:

•  The sculpture is 10 metres long, six metres wide and 2.8 metres in height
•  It weighs 1,200kilos
•  It took a crane and 10 men to assemble.
•  He blows smokes, growls and his eyes follow you.
•  Drogon was built by Gorilla construction.
