Triple J Hottest 100 of 2021 to hit the airwaves on January 22

Triple J hottest 100 2021

The reign of Heat Waves by Glass Animals is coming to an end, with the 2021 triple j Hottest 100 airing this Saturday, January 22nd. This year, triple j is working with Lifeline, raising funds throughout the countdown to help them connect with more young people who are struggling. 

You can listen to the Hottest 100 on the triple j app, FM radio, digital radio and on triple j's website, and follow along via Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter. Then on Sunday 23 January, Double J will be airing the Hottest 100 of 2001. 

Ahead of the countdown, triple j has released some statistics about the countdown:

• More than 2.5 million votes were submitted this year
• 25 artists will be making their Hottest 100 debut
• 8 songs in the countdown were uploaded to triple j Unearthed this year
• There are 102 f-bombs across this year's countdown (as many as the last two countdowns combined)
• August was the month with the most amount of entries  
• 3 artists will join the 15-Songs-Or-Over Club across all Hottest 100 annual countdowns

According to Sportsbet, The Kid LAROI will likely be crowned the winner.

Stay by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber has shortened in to $2.20 overnight (in from $2.50 earlier in the week) and holds 48% of total turnover in the outright market.

In the Winner Without Stay market, The Wiggles’ Like A Version of Elephant is favourite ($2.20), whilst Olivia Rodrigo’s good 4 u follows closely behind ($3.00).
