Now more than ever, it’s important for people to find pockets of calm in their lives. A few deep breaths are all the body needs to move from “fight or flight” mode – that heightened, anxious state so many of us find ourselves in day after day – into “rest and digest” mode, a physiological response that’s much more conducive to flourishing. With its serene image and simple directive, this year-end cover was designed to connect with that deep yearning for spaciousness and calm that many of us feel. It ties together beautifully our stories in this issue, which focus on creating a rich, meaningful life.
