Nextmedia takes over Shape from Odysseus

Nextmedia takes over the licence for bimonthly women's fitness magazine Shape

Nextmedia will take over the licence to publish Shape magazine in Australia and New Zealand.

Shape magazine is America’s most successful women’s fitness magazine with a circulation of over 2.5 million copies every month. Published by Meredith Corporation, Shape provides fitness and shape-conscious women with the latest information and advice on heath and fitness programs, diet, fashion and lifestyle.

Shape magazine has been published in Australia for five years by Odysseus Publishing having now established a loyal following of readers. Nextmedia will publish Shape bimonthly with the first issue being the October/November on sale September 2015.

Australian readers will also be provided with up-to-date information from USA Shape and Fitness websites, selected for Australian readers at www.shapemagazine.com.au Nextmedia has appointed Alison Turner as editor of Shape magazine. Turner is an experienced health and fitness journalist having worked on Men’s Health and Women’s Health. Sam Liddle has been appointed national advertising manager.

Commenting on the launch of Shape magazine, Nextmedia chief executive officer David Gardiner said, “In Australia health, fitness and wellbeing has become an obsession. Shape is one of the world’s most successful fitness magazines and has a wealth of fitness information for Australian readers. We see great potential for the magazine as an addition to the nextmedia portfolio.”
