On Friday, June 10, Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox breakfast trio Fifi, Fev & Nick took over Gold Coast’s party hub, Surfers Paradise for the ultimate all-nighter for Boxy’s Big Night.

Wanting to prove to her breakfast co-hosts she could last the distance, Fifi Box danced her way through the night for 12 hours. Box danced from 6pm Thursday evening to 6am the next morning, where she joined her co-hosts at the studio with no sleep and her dancing shoes still on.

The evening saw 20 Melbourne listeners join the crew for a night of fun featuring a Mexican dinner, a traditional Irish pub visit, karaoke, a Facetime call to The Hit Network’s own, Carrie Bickmore and some of the Gold Coast’s best nightclubs to dance the night away.

Co-host Brendan Fevola at one point disappeared only to return with a real ‘FFN’ tattoo for The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick show initials.

Prior to the night, Fevola wasn't sure if Box was up to it, he said, “Fifi Box is going to be in a world of pain by 6am on Friday morning when the brekky show starts, that’s if she even makes it back to the studio.”

Co-host Nick Cody added, “Having already been out with Fev twice on both Superbowl Mondays, I know we can last the distance, after 10 years I’m not sure Fifi will be able to keep up…”

Mediaweek spoke to Box earlier this year about bringing breakfast radio back to Melbourne. She said, At the start of this year with all the restrictions being lifted, we wanted to get out and see everyone after being cooped up in the studio. We wanted to meet our listeners and feel connected to that community spirit that’s so powerful here in Melbourne. So we came up with this idea: let’s take brekky out, let’s get out into the suburbs. That has evolved into something so much bigger than we could have anticipated.”
