Travis Fimmel returns for season three of Black Snow
George Mason will also reprise his role as Ritchie Cormack.
Stan has confirmed a third season of Black Snow, with filming set to begin in Cairns in April.
The six-part mystery drama will see Travis Fimmel reprise his role as detective James Cormack, investigating a new cold case set in tropical Far North Queensland.
George Mason will return as Ritchie Cormack, alongside Rose Riley as Jade, while new cast additions include Lee Tiger Halley, Caroline Craig and Samson Alston.
A new cold case in Far North Queensland
This season’s investigation centres on the 1999 murder of Liam Knox, with the case becoming deeply personal as James Cormack’s long-lost brother Ritchie (Mason) prepares to stand trial for the crime.

Set against the backdrop of Far North Queensland, the story follows Cormack as he attempts to solve what is described as the toughest cold case of his career.
Michael Healy, Nine Entertainment’s Executive Director of Entertainment Content Commissioning, said the new season builds on the strong momentum of the first two instalments.

“Following the tremendous success of the first two seasons, we are excited to reunite with Travis Fimmel and the team at Goalpost Pictures on a brand new season of Black Snow,” he said.
“This new season promises another unforgettable, suspenseful mystery.”
Production returns to Queensland
Goalpost Pictures executive producer Rosemary Blight said the new story would bring a fresh emotional depth to the series.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Black Snow back to Queensland, this time to the magnificent Far North, with another cold case for James Cormack to solve,” she said.
The new season will be directed by Daniel Nettheim, Christiaan Van Vuuren and Fimmel himself, who joins as director this season.
Production is backed by Screen Queensland and Screen NSW, with post-production to be completed in Sydney.
Seasons one and two of Black Snow are currently streaming on Stan.
