Australian fans of the American version of The Office will be able to watch the new spin-off when it debuts on Binge Wednesday 4 September, the same day it releases in the US. It will also be available on Foxtel.

The Paper is a 10-part mockumentary comedy series from Greg Daniels (creator of the American version of The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You). The series will launch with four episodes, followed by two new episodes weekly.

The Paper follows the documentary crew that once chronicled Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch as they discover a struggling newspaper in the American Midwest — and the eccentric publisher attempting to bring it back to life.

The ensemble cast includes Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time), Sabrina Impacciatore (season 2 of The White Lotus), and Oscar Núñez (reprising his character from The Office), alongside Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key.

The series is produced by Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group.

In 2024 Prime Video debuted an Australian version of The Office, however a second season of that series has not been ordered.
