Foxtel announces Wentworth The Final Sentence to air August 24th

Wentworth, Foxtel’s highest rating and most successful Australian original series in history, is back. Since 2013, 90 episodes have screened in 173 countries around the world including the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Canada, Israel, Finland, Japan and the USA. It has amassed an impressive catalogue of awards and nominations locally and internationally, with both the Most Popular and Most Outstanding Drama at the TV Week Logie Awards in 2018 – the first time an Australian drama has taken out both accolades in the same year. In 2019, it claimed Most Outstanding Drama for the fourth time .

After dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, Wentworth resumed production of season 8 part B in June 2020. 

At the time, Jo Porter, Wentworth executive producer and director of scripted, Fremantle, said: “Together with the cast and crew we are all looking forward to resuming production this week on the final chapter of Wentworth. We have carefully adjusted our production processes to ensure the health and well-being of our team and at the same time ensured we are able to maintain the integrity of our storytelling.” 

Wentworth is a Fremantle production for Foxtel with Fremantle director of scripted, Jo Porter and Foxtel’s senior drama consultant, Penny Win as executive producers. The directors are Kevin Carlin, Beck Cole, Fiona Banks, Corrie Chen, Roger Hodgman and Mat King. The writers are John Ridley, Kim Wilson, Pete McTighe, Max Conroy and Marcia Gardner, who is both script producer and writer.
