Escape, News Corp Australia’s travel media brand, has launched a nationwide competition to find its next roaming travel reporter, in partnership with tour operator Inspiring Vacations.

The winner will join Escape on a paid six-month contract, creating video content from six global trips designed to showcase destinations through a storyteller’s lens. The role is based in Escape’s Sydney newsroom and includes travel, content production and editorial collaboration.

Kerrie McCallum, Head of Travel at News Corp Australia, said the initiative speaks to the growing demand for video content across platforms: “We’re seeking a relatable and visual storyteller, who is confident both in front of and behind the camera, with the creativity and technical skill to bring Escape’s travel content to life.”

“The lucky winner will be part of the Escape team for six months, exploring the world on six trips with our sponsor Inspiring Vacations while being paid to create content that connects our audience with their ultimate holiday.”

Paul Ryan, Co-founder of Inspiring Vacations, added: “Travel has the power to move and inspire – and this competition is a brilliant way to celebrate that. We can’t wait to see the moments the winner captures across our exceptional range of tours and cruises.”

The competition opened 1 August and runs until 31 August 2025. Five finalists will be shortlisted, with the winner announced in early October. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria and agree to the full terms and conditions listed on the official entry page at escape.com.au/greatestjob.
