Home and Away returns to Seven and 7plus tonight at 7.00pm, picking up moments after the 2025 season finale’s train derailment cliffhanger.

The drama centres on a “party train” carrying Summer Bay locals to a music festival in Broken Hill, which derailed inside a tunnel. Several characters were left trapped, with multiple lives in danger as rescue crews moved in.

What happened in the finale

The season ended with the train derailing inside the tunnel, leaving passengers injured and stranded. As the wreckage shifted, the threat of further collapse raised the stakes for anyone still inside.

Who was on the train

Among those caught up in the derailment were Justin, Mackenzie, Remi, Abigail, Dana, Sonny, Lacey, Jo and Eddie.

What viewers can expect

When the series returns, rescue operations are underway as authorities work against the clock to reach those trapped. With the structure unstable, every move carries risk for both survivors and those trying to help.

David, Cash, Levi and Tane are on site, each trying to navigate the chaos while fearing for loved ones still inside the tunnel. Tane is set to defy police orders and enter the wreckage himself, raising questions about what that decision will cost.

Brax and Ricky also confirmed for 2026

Seven has also flagged the return of fan favourites Darryl “Brax” Braxton and Erica “Ricky” Sharpe, played by Stephen Peacocke and Bonnie Sveen. The pair will feature in a forthcoming Western Australia event, produced in partnership with Tourism Western Australia.
