Madman Media Group has acquired Garage Entertainment Australia.

Garage Entertainment is a rights management and production company specialising in action sports film and television content, with a branded VOD service delivering directly to its consumers.

Madman distributes more than 20 feature films per year via nationwide, event or film festival strategies.

Madman’s streaming services include AnimeLab and DocPlay. The former hosts anime fast-tracked from Japan, while DocpPay is a streaming hub for documentaries. The addition of Garage Entertainment to Madman Media Group’s streaming services provides an aggregated subscriber base of over 600,000 registered users.

Garage Entertainment has produced award-winning TV and film productions including Bra Boys, Missing, Fighting Fear and The Crew. Madman’s theatrical division has generated more than $50 million at the box office over the past two years, with standout successes including Hunt For The Wilderpeople, Hell Or High Water, That Sugar Film and Jasper Jones.
