We like the Christmas edition to be a real celebration and traditionally the cover has featured someone in a beautiful red dress. We wanted to really capture the Australian essence of Christmas. We have tended to go for the traditional red photographed indoors in the past, but so many of us spend Christmas outdoors that I had a vision of shooting a fresh outdoor Christmas scene.

Sylvia Jeffreys is obviously gorgeous and she hosted the Christmas With The Weekly TV show, which was a great tie-in. We also had a feast prepared for our food pages so they all got to sit down and have a big Christmas lunch.
