Independent sell-side advertising platform Magnite has appointed Priyanka Bajaj as Asia's head of demand facilitation.

Leading the company’s demand facilitation team in Asia, Bajaj will develop critical strategic demand-side relationships with media agencies, DSPs and buyers in the region, focusing on driving accelerated growth.

Bringing over 15 years of experience as a digital specialist in marketing and technology, Bajaj joins Magnite from AdColony (A Digital Turbine Company) where she built APAC brand sales, transforming AdColony into the leading mobile ad platform in South-East Asia.

Gavin Buxton, managing director Asia at Magnite said, “We are excited to have Priyanka join our team here in Asia. Her impressive breadth of experience and industry relationships will be critical in accelerating our growth to build key buyer relationships in the region, and we are looking forward to the fresh perspective she will undoubtedly bring to the strategic direction of Magnite.”

Earlier this year Magnite released the Live and Kicking: An In-Depth Look At Live Streaming in Australia study, which found sports streamers are more responsive to advertising than traditional TV watchers.

In July, Mediaweek spoke to Magnites managing director, Australia, James Young, about what the findings of the study spell out for the streaming industry. Young told Mediaweek:  “While sport makes up a huge proponent of it, it also includes a wide range of different mediums. Live streaming is becoming a far more normal way of consuming media.

"It’s interesting to know that this is the way that the industry is shifting. Consumers are wanting to consume media, it’s just easier to get it over the internet."

Commenting on her appointment, Bajaj said: “I’m looking forward to leading the team across Asia to evolve our strategic proposition in the market and create customised offerings, and of course to work together with agencies and brands in helping them build successful campaigns by taking advantage of Magnite’s unique omnichannel capabilities.”
