At Paramount's 2023 Upfront, Dessert Masters was revealed as a new show coming to 10 in 2023.

From the producers of MasterChef Australia and in a world-first, the top pastry chefs from around the country will battle for the title of Australia’s Dessert Master, premiering on 10 in 2023. 

Beverley McGarvey, the executive vice president and chief content officer for Paramount ANZ told Mediaweek, "There'll be a MasterChef spin-off called Desert Masters, which I don't need to talk about because it is literally what you think it is - all spectacular with delicious things."
 
Produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay company), Dessert Masters sets a dozen of the nation’s sugar-hit specialists against each other in pastry-themed challenges – all beneath the bright lights of the MasterChef Australia kitchen.
 
To claim the crown, these pastry chefs will need to conceive an array of delectable desserts.
 
Who will enjoy the sweet taste of victory and become Australia’s first ever Dessert Master and walk away with the $100,000 cash prize? 
 
Daniel Monaghan, senior vice president, Paramount ANZ said, “MasterChef Australia remains much loved by Australian audiences and we are thrilled to expand the brand in the sweetest way possible - with Dessert Masters.

“The new series will give pastry chefs a chance to take out the Dessert Masters title, and we can't wait to see what they create."
