Re, M&C Saatchi Group’s design and experience business, has announced the appointment of Debbie Spence as head of strategy.

Spence brings more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy and human-centred design to the position, and she will lead their expanded team of brand and strategists.

Patrick Guerrera, founder and CEO of Re, said: "We’re thrilled to have Debbie with us and leading a growing team that continues to deliver top strategic thinking for our clients across all stages of their growth cycle.

"Her experience leading complex strategic programs will be a vital component as we fast track our digital capabilities for our growing client base."

Spence said of her new appointment: “I’m endlessly fascinated by the interactions between brands, technology, places and people.

"Re is a place where we can lead with not just how we do work but the way in which we work together as colleagues, clients and with brands. I’m excited to be joining at this pivotal time of growth as we expand our offer," she added.

The newly appointed head of strategy joins the company during a time of significant growth after Re opened its Melbourne hub and revealed its new business wins this year.

Re has also welcomed new hires to the team: Mehnaaz Ahmed, previously a brand strategist at Uberbrand who will focus on Optus; Maxime Delplanque from branding agency Houston who will focus on Woolworths; and former CommBank people consultant Juliana Klein.

The addition of the new hire strengthens the existing team of Max Bon De Veire, who has been promoted to group strategy director; Ola Olorunnimbe, promoted to senior strategist; and William Xi, new business and marketing coordinator.

Earlier this year, Re announced the expansion of its presence in Australia with a new office in Melbourne, in addition to its Sydney office.
