Marks on why Q+A was axed

ABC boss Hugh Marks has finally spelled out why Q+A slid off the schedule, telling Senate Estimates the show had drifted too far from what once made it tick.

As David Knox writes in TV Tonight, the program was dumped in June after an 18-year run and is still sitting in the “to be replaced” column.

Pressure mounts on CBS over Trump interview edit

US Congressman Jamie Raskin is asking CBS and Paramount to explain how they edited Donald Trump’s recent 60 Minutes interview, saying the final cut raised fresh questions about the former president’s sway over the network.

According to The Hill's Dominick Mastrangelo, in a letter to newly appointed CBS ombudsperson Ken Weinstein, Raskin criticised what he called “improper influence” from Trump during the lead-up to the broadcast.

Tunny to front 10 News weekends

Network 10 has confirmed that journalist and presenter Georgie Tunny will anchor the network’s weekend news bulletin from 2026.

Tunny’s appointment follows the departure of Chris Bath, who announced last month she would leave Network 10 at the end of 2025.

Caitlin Cassidy from The Guardian writes that Google’s annual rankings show Australians were locked onto disaster and drama in 2025, with Cyclone Alfred taking out the year’s most-searched topic.

News Corp Australia has cashed out of ARN Media, selling its 13 per cent stake for around $18 million and trimming its exposure to the increasingly choppy commercial radio market.

According to The Australian's James Madden, the move was framed by the company as part of a sharper focus on core consumers and digital products.

Barber takes Booie Beauty to Woolworths

The Australian's Tansy Harcourt writes that Celeste Barber has rolled her makeup brand Booie Beauty into Woolworths, giving the six-month-old label its first major bricks-and-mortar footprint.

Booie, launched by Barber and P.E Nation co-founder Claire Greaves, has gained early online traction and is now expanding into 1,000 stores.
