Five new farmers are ready to follow their hearts down the road to real love in the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife, premiering at 7:00 pm Sunday 4 September on Channel Seven and 7plus.

This years farmers include Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, Victoria; Farmer Paige, 27, from Cassilis, NSW; Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW; Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW; and Farmer Harry, 23, from Kyabram, Victoria.

In Australia alone, the series has resulted in nine marriages, two long-term relationships and 25 babies - and that is even before this year’s season concludes.

Host Natalie Gruzlewski returns for this season with Seven journalist and presenter Samantha Armytage, joining in a guest role. Growing up on a farm and now married to a farmer, Samantha is perfectly qualified to help Natalie guide the farmers to finding love.

When asked what the biggest challenge would be for any of the potential partners transitioning to a life on a farm, Armytage said loneliness is a big challenge, especially if you’re isolated.

“The wi-fi doesn’t always work in regional areas, and you can’t just order Uber Eats for dinner. You’re really at the mercy of mother nature when she turns on floods or droughts or dust storms. There are lots of insects and spiders and snakes and when you’re dealing with livestock or farm machinery, there’s never a dull moment,” she said.

“Farmer work is really hard, seven days a week. So, if you’re not self-sufficient, a team player and you don’t love the land, forget it!”

Armytage says her role in this season is to provide advice to any of the young women or men hoping to fall in love with a farmer and moving to the country. She’ll also introduce the farmers this season to some people she’s chosen for them, who she thinks could thrive in the country.

The new season of Farmer Wants A Wife premieres Sunday 4 September at 7:00 pm on Channel Seven and 7plus.
