Seven’s Melbourne Cup coverage sets new record for streaming

Seven has reported massive digital audiences for its Melbourne Cup streaming. The broadcaster has had its biggest streaming audience since the Australian Open Men's Final in January and it has set a new Melbourne Cup streaming record.

The streaming numbers: 350,275 live con-current streams, which was +22% on 2016 while there were 10.9m Race Day Live streaming minutes, which was +64% on 2016.

The primary channel metro numbers for the race indicate an audience of 1.79m, down from 2.05m in 2016.

The Melbourne Cup day averaged 915,000 metro viewers across seven hours of broadcast and peaked at 2.7 million during The Race (1.9 million metro).

Seven dominated viewing during The Race with commercial shares exceeding 80% for P25-54, P16-39, GB+Ch, Men 16+ and Women 16+.

7HorseRacing on Facebook reached 850,000 and recorded over half a million video views across Facebook and Twitter.
