MTV has announced the launch of MTV Back & Beyond, an exclusive month long music content block dedicated to celebrating four decades of the iconic MTV Brand. Classic performances mixed with future legends, this month is all about music.

Kicking off Saturday, 7 August, each week will be dedicated to a decade of defining music moments from the world’s most iconic artists alongside performances filmed exclusively for MTV across the years.

MTV is getting the party started where it all began in the 1980’s with the OG queen of Pop, Madonna. Get ready to step into the archives with content that includes Behind The Music Madonna, MTV Unplugged performances from Elton John and Paul McCartney, as well as local legend Jimmy Barnes: Killing Time.

The curated music block is set to be a celebration of epic music moments looking back and beyond to feature artists past, present and future.

Earlier this year, Award winning Aussie artist, Tash Sultana, performed an intimate show at the iconic Chapel Off Chapel in South Yarra for MTV Unplugged.

Sultana said about their performance: “This is a set that has never been seen. So this is the very first time and I’ve been saving all of this for this moment.”

“The best way to listen to it is to turn the light off and light a candle or incense. I want you to feel sensory overdrive by the end of the set. So dim the lights and just watch.”
