Paramount restructure leads to departure of Network 10 executives

The move also sees the promotion of Beverley McGarvey and Jarrod Villani

Network 10’s parent company, Paramount Global, has restructured in Australia. The move has resulted in redundancies across marketing, streaming, and operations, including the positions of at least three executive positions.

According to Nine Publishing’s AFR, executives who have had their positions made redundant include Paramount’s vice president of streaming, Liz Baldwin, and vice president of operations, Frank Filosi.

Baldwin has been with Network 10 since 2015, and has played major roles in the runninng of 10 Play and the launch of Paramount+ in Australia.

Filosi has spent 37 years with the company, working in senior roles at Network 10 across Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane.

Nine’s Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that the redundancies also include 10’s vice president of marketing, Jean Jenkins, as well as “about eight positions” including a sales position.

In a statement, a Paramount spokeswoman thanked the affected staff for their service to the business.

“As a result of these changes, which are also strongly focused on the rapidly evolving media and entertainment market, some people will depart the business,” the spokeswoman said. “To those colleagues, we would like to express our sincere thanks for their hard work, dedication, leadership and professionalism during their tenure. They will be fully supported during this period.”

At the same time, the restructuring has led to promotions for co-vice presidents Beverley McGarvey and Jarrod Villani

McGarvey will continue to hold her role of executive vice president and chief content officer, ANZ, and will also become head of Paramount+ in Australia.

Villani will continue to hold his role as EVP and chief operating and commercial officer, and will add regional lead for Australia to his resume. 

In an internal email to staff on Wednesday, Paramount international markets chief executive Pamela Kaufman said that the changes came from a strategy designed to take the business into the future.

“Regional expertise and local execution remains important, and we must have the right leadership team in place to drive our business forward. 

“All our organisational changes are rooted in a strong, deliberate strategy that we all believe will move us forward in our next chapter.

“We will continue to carefully and methodically work market-by-market and across business segments to clarify roles and reporting lines, which will be done in accordance with our local legal obligations.”
