News Corp Australia has announced the appointment of Kogan senior executive Adam Kron as director, e-commerce.

Kron steps into the newly created role following his success in key roles at different stages of start-ups and the growth of businesses across Australia's most well-known e-commerce businesses.

Prior to his role as director of growth at Kogan, he was the executive general manager and chief strategy officer at The Catch Group, now part of Wesfarmers.

Kron has also served in similar roles at Temple & Webster, prominent in the e-commerce homewares category.

News Corp Australia’s chief financial officer Michael Ford said Kron's appointment would bring a deep level of expertise to help coordinate and expand News Corp Australia’s existing e-commerce operations to build on the company’s commitment to be client-first and audience-led.

"Adam will bring his considerable experience to help us use our data smarter to deliver  razor-sharp and niche consumer insights on behalf of clients and to create unique and differentiated experiences to benefit our audiences," he said.

"Audiences are increasingly purchasing online and are looking for confidence, convenience and speed of transaction in the type of trusted environments we provide," he added.

Kron also said in the statement that he was excited to join News Corp Australia.

He added: "News Corp Australia’s unrivalled connection with Australians through its audience reach and commercial affiliates creates an outstanding opportunity to create the nation’s leading e-commerce destination."

Ford was appointed as News Corp Australia's chief financial officer and joined Foxtel's board back in 2020.

Executive chairman Michael Miller said Ford is a “well-respected executive and director with more than 30 years’ experience in strategy and finance roles”.

Ford was previously served as chief financial officer of QBE Insurance and deputy chief financial officer of Commonwealth Bank. He stepped into the role after CFO Stacey Brown.
