News Corp Australia has revealed plans for fantasy NRL game, KFC SuperCoach 2023.

The introduction of the Redcliffe Dolphins brings the number of teams in the competition to 17 - meaning one team will have a bye every round as players battle to win the $50,000 overall prize.

Former Brisbane Broncos star Corey Parker returns as the ambassador of KFC SuperCoach NRL for the fourth consecutive year.

Parker, who was called “God” by KFC SuperCoach players during his stellar 347-game on-field career, said the fantasy football game had adapted to the changes by making it easier than ever to get involved.

“The introduction of a new team means KFC SuperCoach players will get more cash to choose their team, more trades during the season and a reimagining of major bye rounds,” Parker said.

“There also will be a best 13 scoring rule in the three major bye rounds where multiple teams get a chance for a rest.

“It definitely will be competitive on the field and challenging for SuperCoach players at home and at workplaces around Australia as they push themselves to outdo the friends and rivals.”

The winner of each round of KFC SuperCoach NRL will score $1000 or $2000 if they are a SuperCoach Plus subscriber.

A new look website and app will also make it easier for KFC SuperCoach players to tackle the season, with a simplified and improved menu making it easier to navigate. Live notifications, faster live scoring and more customisation in Draft leagues have also been added.

News Corp Australia’s Managing Director - News Sport Network Michael Wilkins welcomed Corey Parker back as ambassador.

“Corey knows what it’s like to experience Australia’s best fantasy footy game; we are delighted to have him back on board this year spearheading our national campaign,” said Wilkins. “The best thing about KFC SuperCoach is it's free to play and a great way to have fun – whether you’re a veteran or it’s your first time.

“SuperCoach is more than a game, it’s a community. Players push themselves to do better than their friends and workmates - and their rivals; it’s an exciting, challenging and engaging experience, and it makes watching games throughout the season so much more exciting.”
