Our same-sex marriage front page in August was the most re-tweeted front page in Australian history. It reached more than two million people on social media. We were the first newspaper in the country to take a stand on this important issue, writing an editorial saying it was time for the parliament to allow same-sex marriage because it’s what the public wanted. We based it on an NT News survey, which showed more than 70% of people wanted same-sex marriage to happen. It also showed we are more than just crocs and UFOs.
