Nine calculates day-night Ashes Test reached over 10m Australians

A total of 10,037,396 Australians tuned in throughout the five days of Nine’s broadcast of the Second Ashes Test between Australia and England, reports the Nine Network.

Across the five metropolitan capital cities, the cumulative reach across the five days (i.e. the total number of individuals who watched any part of any day’s play) was 7.183 million, representing 42% of the metropolitan population.

In regional Australia, the cumulative reach across the five days was 2.854m, representing 37% of the regional population.

The highest rating session across the five days of play at Adelaide Oval was the third session on Day Two (Sunday, December 3), which secured a peak audience of 2.437m viewers, with an average of 2.144m viewers.

Each of the third sessions of play achieved an average national audience of 1.705m across the four sessions (Saturday to Tuesday).

Each of the second sessions of play achieved an average national audience of 1.499m across the four sessions (Saturday to Tuesday).

Each of the first sessions of play achieved an average national audience of 1.037m across the five sessions (Saturday to Wednesday).
