Oprah Winfrey is taking her media empire to Amazon in a major, multi-year new deal with her podcast, book club, and TV content.

Winfrey's podcast will now be distributed through Amazon’s Wondery network and expanded to two episodes per week. Episodes will also be available across Amazon’s platforms, including Prime Video, Amazon Music, Audible, and Fire TV.

Winfrey's iconic Book Club will also be integrated, "marking a major shift for one of the most influential literary platforms in pop culture," the Jasmine Brand reports.

Amazon has also secured the rights to stream episodes from The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran for more than 20 years.

And in news her old-school fans will love, Oprah’s “Favorite Things” franchise, will now live on Amazon with a dedicated shopping centre.

The deal with Amazon for her empire is an expansion of Winfrey's already massive media legacy - meaning the Oprah brand is a juggernaut that doesn't look like ever stopping.

Winfrey said in a statement: “Hosting this podcast allows me to continue the work I feel called to do — opening the door for conversations that matter. The kind of conversations that remind us we’re not alone, and invite us to see ourselves and one another more clearly.

Steve Boom, Amazon’s VP of audio, Twitch and games, in a statement:

“Oprah Winfrey has built one of the most iconic, timeless brands in the world, spanning television, publishing, and beyond.

“Through this collaboration with Harpo Entertainment, we are bringing her voice to more people and expanding how her audiences engage with Oprah in ways only Amazon can deliver.”

Winfrey's deal comes under her legendary production company, Harpo Entertainment, which was founded by the 'Talk Queen' in 1986, using her first name spelled backwards.
