Sky News appoints Kylie Merritt commercial director

Merritt will spearhead the company’s commercial strategies

Sky News has appointed Kylie Merritt to the senior leadership role of commercial director.

Merritt will spearhead the company’s commercial strategies across its suite of on-air and digital products including the Sky News channels, skynews.com.au, Qantas in-flight news and the international streaming service, Australia Channel.

Merritt will be responsible for growth and partnership opportunities, driving digital content and sales.

Prior to this role Merritt was the Sky News digital director, developing the company’s digital products including skynews.com.au, Sky News Multiview, Qantas in-flight news, Australia Channel and social media platforms.

Merritt first joined Sky News in 2008 where she led the team responsible for establishing the Sky News Business channel, holding the position of channel manager until 2012.

Following this Merritt spent two years at News Corp Australia as head of video, working across editorial and commercial strategies for the group’s portfolio of digital products, before returning to Sky News in 2015.

Merritt has 20 years' experience in broadcast and digital media across a variety of roles including news reporting, producing, presenting and management.
