Network Ten enters esports space, will broadcast Gfinity league on ONE

Ten will broadcast all Rocket League games in the league, which also features two other games.

HT&E’s Gfinity Esports Australia and Network Ten have announced a partnership that will see the live broadcast of esports on free-to-air TV.

The 2018 Gfinity Elite Series Australia will screen on ONE, kicking off this weekend with a three-hour broadcast on Sunday June 3 at 10am.

Ten will broadcast all Rocket League games in the league, which also features two other games: Counter Strike: GO and Street Fighter V.

The league includes five weeks of regular season, with the action taking place at the Gfinity Hoyts Esports Arena in Moore Park.

Dominic Remond, CEO of Gfinity Esports Australia, said: “We are committed to growing esports in this country and promoting a new level of quality entertainment and professional gameplay, so we are very excited to be taking Gfinity Elite Series Australia to a new, free-to-air television audience.

The Gfinity Elite Series Australia runs each weekend from June 2 to July 15. Watch Rocket League matches live from 10am AEST each Sunday on ONE, and all matches broadcast exclusively online across the weekend at twich.tv/gfinityau.
