Nine announced today it has launched the new travel website ninemsn Elsewhere in partnership with Flight Centre – the fifth lifestyle site ninemsn has launched since revamping in April 2015.

Elsewhere’s tagline is “travel the world, one city at a time”, which perfectly encapsulates the content of the site, whose point of difference will be that the audience is at the core of the travel experience. The focus is on superior guide content from the most exciting cities around the world.

Each of the 55 cities launching the site has a regular contributor, a local who lives in the heart of that city, keeping users up to date with the latest eats, stays and things to do.

Alex Parsons, Nine’s chief digital and marketing officer, says: “We’ve been on a great journey over the last year publishing our new lifestyle titles, and ninemsn Elsewhere is another great site to add to this slate. We are extremely happy to be partnering with Flight Centre, one of the most recognised travel brands in the Australian market. Working closely with them has enabled us to build a world-class travel site that reflects the way Australians like to travel now.”

Darren Wright, Flight Centre’s general manager, says: “We are excited about our partnership with Elsewhere and the opportunity it presents to surface amazing travel deals to an engaged audience through our integrated presence on the site that sees Flight Centre powering the comprehensive travel search and booking functionality.

“Our partnership speaks to our continued strategy of seeking new opportunities to reach a relevant audience and support our travel industry partners through an innovative involvement with Australia’s newest travel website.”

Amy Nelmes, editor of ninemsn Elsewhere, says: “We wanted a travel site which reflected the way travel is changing. We live a fast-paced life, with the world at our fingertips through social media. Elsewhere’s focus is cities, as many of us will pass through one each time we take a trip. And we are launching with almost 60, with a local contributor in each one.

“Our contributors are journalists, influential bloggers and photographers who live in that city and know what is hot right now – the latest food trends, hotel openings and what to avoid.”
