The National Rugby League (NRL) has announced that its partnership with KFC has been extended for another five years until the end of 2027.

KFC has been a long-term partner as the official quick-service restaurant of the NRL. The new deal extends across all major NRL and NRL Women’s (NRLW) assets, including the Finals Series, Grand Finals, men’s and women’s State of Origin, men’s and women’s Domestic Test Matches, and the Australian Kangaroos and Jillaroos teams.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with KFC for another five years. KFC have been terrific partners for the game and have created some great activations for fans.”

KFC will become the official Fried Night Footy naming rights sponsor of Friday Night Football from the 2023 NRL Telstra Premiership season. It will also become the official naming rights sponsor of KFC Monday Football matches.

KFC CMO Sally Spriggs said: “KFC and Friday Night Footy has proven to be the perfect pairing for footy fans looking to combine their favourite sport with their favourite feed.

“We’re delighted to show our ongoing support of the game by extending our partnership with the NRL and NRLW for five years and look forward to experiencing even more iconic Aussie sporting moments alongside footy fans.”

Foxtel Media recently revealed its 12 sponsors for the 2023 NRL season. In addition to KFC, Sportsbet, McDonald’s, KIA, KFC, VB, McCain, Ford, Red Rooster, Harvey Norman, Chemist Warehouse and Telstra are the 2023 season game day sponsors, with Westpac coming on as the 2023 Fox League Super Saturday Naming Rights partner.
