Origin 1 – how big can the ratings be for Nine?
A complete list of the metro and regional ratings for every State of Origin game on Nine from 2001
Holden State of Origin Game 1 will be broadcast tonight from 7.30pm across the Nine Network in all metro markets except Perth where the broadcast starts at 5.30pm on Gem.
The voice of rugby league, Ray “Rabs” Warren, will call all the action from the Nine Network commentary box alongside Peter Sterling, Phil Gould and Paul Vautin.
Yvonne Sampson will host Nine’s exclusive live State of Origin Game 1 coverage flanked by Rugby League Immortals Andrew “Joey” Johns and Wally “The King” Lewis, and Origin Legends Darren Lockyer and Brad Fittler, as well as Brett Finch and injured Queensland fullback, Billy Slater.
The biggest TV audience for a Game 1 match since the start of OzTAM ratings was in May 2014 with a combined metro and regional audience of 4,055,000. That game also delivered the biggest metro audience of 2,616,000.
The biggest audience for any game was Game 3 of 2013 with 4,194,000 with 2,698,000 in metro markets plus 1,496,000 in regional markets.
