Babyology has appointed Laina O’Donnell, former sales director of Bauer’s beautyheaven and homeheaven, as its new agency sales manager.

O’Donnell’s recruitment follows an aggressive growth strategy that has already seen the company’s online digital traffic double since April 2015.

Babyology is also recruiting a commercial editor to help brands tap into their highly engaged AB female audience, as well as sales managers and additional writers for its editorial team.

O’Donnell, who has more than 10 years’ digital experience across native, video, mobile, WOM and consumer-generated content, will head up Babyology’s Sydney agency division, helping agencies tap into the unique female AB audience and leverage native advertising opportunities. She worked both on the launch of Bauer’s beautyheaven seven years ago when Australian digital media was in its infancy, and more recently on sister site homeheaven.com.au, recently acquired by Bauer.

“Having just given birth to my first son, I am really excited to join Babyology and combine my obsessions with all things digital and babies. I was really blown away by the phenomenal  levels of engagement among the Babyology audience,” said O‘Donnell.

Babyology managing editor and founder Mandi Gunsberger said the new appointments were part of an expansion strategy to grow the company’s digital presence and assets into 2016. “We’re thrilled to have Laina on board with Babyology. Our company is growing extremely rapidly and we have some exciting plans to reveal very soon,” Gunsberger said.
