Radio ad revenue up in November

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth all showed growth

Radio ad revenue has recorded an increase in November 2016 up 5.5% to $72.411 million, according to the metropolitan commercial radio advertising revenue, sourced by Deloitte and released today by industry body, Commercial Radio Australia.

The Sydney market showed strong growth up 11.11% to $23.006 million, Melbourne was up 4.63% to $21.591 million, Brisbane rose 5.4% to $11.322 million, Perth was up .32% to $10.101 million and Adelaide was down .89%to $6.391 million.

The five months of the 2016/17 financial year shows the total market up .23% to a total of $336.480 million.

YTD for the individual markets shows Melbourne up 1.43% to $104.266 million, Sydney up 1.17% to $104.123 million and Brisbane up .77% to $52.653 million. Adelaide was down 5.80% to $29.712 million and Perth slightly down 1.02% $45.726 million.

Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner said: “Radio continues to perform in an increasingly competitive media landscape. The industry is innovating and offers advertisers an effective, multiplatform delivery.”
