KIIS 97.3 has partnered with Wendy’s Milk Bar to revive the iconic Agro ice cream, paying tribute to late entertainer Jamie Dunn.

The limited-time return honours Dunn’s legacy as the voice behind Agro, a defining figure in Australian television and radio, while raising funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland.

A nostalgic tribute

For many Australians, Agro’s Cartoon Connection was a staple of 80s and 90s childhoods, with the Agro ice cream becoming a popular extension of the character’s cultural impact.

From 1 May, the ice cream will be available for $5, with 50 cents from each sale donated to the charity, which Dunn supported throughout his career.

Radio and community connection

KIIS 97.3 breakfast hosts Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman and Corey Oates are driving the initiative, combining nostalgia with community fundraising.

“Jamie would love the fact we are bringing back his ice cream one last time especially as it will also help kids in hospital. His family are right behind this initiative. So come on Brissy, let’s do this for Jamie and Agro as a wonderful way to say thank you and goodbye," Bailey said.

Wightman added: “We are stoked to be part of bringing back the Agro ice cream and giving the kids of today a chance to experience the iconic ice cream.”

“Yeah, the kids will love it, what’s not to love about a cone dipped in choc malt and a smiley face on it… also what a great way to be able to give to such a good charity," Oates said.

To mark the launch, the KIIS 97.3 breakfast team will broadcast live from Wendy’s Milk Bar at Forest Lake on 1 May, inviting listeners and families to join the tribute.
