Mediaweek editor James Manning looks at the fourth GfK Radio Ratings survey for 2018 in the Brisbane market.

Nova 106.9 12.2%

Breakfast returned early from the survey break this week for Origin Game 3, but at least Ash, Kip and Luttsy with Susie O’Neill returned to good news – Nova is again clear market leader after sharing top spot with 97.3, and breakfast has edged further away from Hit breakfast – although the margin is just 0.2. Despite a small dip in drive, Kate, Tim and Marty maintain a big lead.

97.3 11.9%

All day parts except evening were down. The last survey for the breakfast combo of Bianca, Terry and Bob dipped 0.6 to 11.7%.

Hit 105 11.8%

The station is now just 0.4 behind Nova thanks largely to the strong breakfast share on 12.5%, which is only 0.2 behind Nova. Morning and afternoon were up and Hughesy and Kate closed the gap a little with Nova in drive. Share 18-24 surged 4.8 to 28.0% making them the only game in town if you want that demo.

104.5 Triple M 10.5%

Share was steady in double figures but a breakdown shows a nice increase for Marto, Robin and Lawrence Mooney while Kennedy Molloy did well too, up 1.0 to 11.1%. The station dropped from #1 to #2 40-54.

4KQ 9.9%

The little station that could had its share back close to double figures with the numbers up everywhere except, strangely, in breakfast, which dipped 0.6 to 8.2%.

4BC 5.3%

Lift of 0.4 10+ thanks to rises in breakfast with Alan Jones and morning with Ray Hadley while Chris Smith’s afternoon slot also added share.

Macquarie Sports 882 1.1%

The best result along the east coast for the new sports network with share up 0.6 to 1.1%. Drive is doing well here with share for The Ox and Marko up from 0.5 to 1.6%.
