"Congratulations on your new TV gig": Jackie O addresses Bachelorette rumours

One of people’s favourite games when it comes to reality TV in Australia is guessing who will be donning their best outfut and taking on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. The most recent prediction is that Jackie ‘O’ Henderson of Kyle & Jackie O fame will be following in her friend Sophie Monk’s footsteps and looking for love on the Channel 10 show.

Speaking on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning, Henderson seemed to conclusively shut down the rumours, first reported in Woman’s Day.

“Congratulations on your new TV gig,” Kyle Sandilands joked, before painting a picture for listeners of Henderson standing next to Osher Gunsberg as the roses were handed out.

“That’s all untrue, Kyle. It’s a bullshit story. No, I’m not doing that,” Henderson replied.

“I wouldn’t have been happy about that,” Sandilands added. “You’re a great woman that has achieved amazing things in your life. You’ve raised a beautiful daughter – on your own, mind you. Well, with a little bit of help here and there from her father. You’re an award-winning host and wonderful friend.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a compliment from Sandilands without something tawdry thrown in for good measure, concluding that “you’ve finally got a decent body, you’re rootable again” in reference to Henderson’s weight loss after joining WW.

Channel 10 is resting The Bachelorette format this year after Brooke Blurton’s history-making series in 2021. On the flip side of the coin, it has confirmed another series of The Bachelor franchise will be filmed in Melbourne.

Originally filmed in mansions around Sydney before moving to the Gold Coast for The Bachelors last season, the move will see roses handed out on Victorian soil for the first time in the franchise’s history.

Season 11 of The Bachelor franchise was attracted to film in Victoria by the Victorian Government through VicScreen’s Victorian Screen Incentive. The show is produced by Warner Bros.
